Perplexity is raising money at a $8 billion valuation, with X, Notion and OpenAI making takeover bids

According to The Information, AI search startup Perplexity is conducting a new round of financing at a valuation of at least $8 billion. X, Notion and OpenAI have all issued acquisition offers for Perplexity between $150 million and $200 million, and Microsoft has also expressed acquisition intentions.
