On September 23rd, the National Development and Reform Commission held a special press conference on the 23rd to introduce the overall progress and effectiveness of large-scale equipment renewal and consumer goods trade-in policies. Zhao Chenxin, a member of the party group and deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission, said that our country is a big country in durable consumer goods, with more than 3 billion home appliances and more than 300 million cars. Improving the energy efficiency level of these stock products through trade-in will help reduce the overall energy consumption level and carbon emission intensity of our country. In terms of automobile scrap renewal, we subsidize 20,000 yuan and 15,000 yuan respectively for the purchase of new energy passenger cars or 2.0 liters and below displacement fuel passenger cars. In terms of trade-in of home appliances, we give a 15% trade-in subsidy to the sales price of 8 types of home appliances such as refrigerators with energy efficiency or water efficiency standards at level 2 and above, and an additional 5% subsidy to the sales price of products with energy efficiency or water efficiency standards at level 1 and above. Driven by the policy, the retail sales of new energy vehicles reached 1.027 million in August, a significant increase of 17% month-on-month, and the penetration rate of new energy vehicles exceeded 50% for two consecutive months. It is expected that 2 million low-emission standard passenger vehicles will be withdrawn throughout the year.
