BlackRock, the asset manager, said bitcoin was a hedge against global chaos and geopolitical uncertainty. In a statement, it described bitcoin as a global currency alternative. BlackRock said the asset "can be used as a hedge against increased global chaos and declining trust in governments, banks and fiat currencies".
