On September 10, the Canadian government announced on September 10 that it will start a 30-day consultation on potential new tariffs on Chinese products in the fields of batteries and battery components, semiconductors, solar products and key minerals. Stakeholders can provide feedback on potential measures by October 10. Previously, the Canadian government announced on August 26 that it would impose tariffs and other restrictive measures on electric vehicles, steel and aluminum products imported from China, and launched a consultation before that.
