WuXi AppTec: Does not pose a national security risk to any country now or in the future

On September 10, WuXi AppTec (02359.HK) Hong Kong Stock Exchange announced that the company has learned that on September 9, 2024 (US time), the US House of Representatives passed a draft legislation numbered H.R. 8333 on the proposed Biosafety Act. The draft legislation passed this time is based on the version previously voted by the House Oversight and Accountability Committee on May 15, 2024 (US time), which includes the designation of WuXi AppTec as a "biotechnology company of concern". The company strongly objects to this preconceived and unreasonable designation without due process.
