On September 1, the Chongqing Municipal Committee of Housing and Urban-Rural Development issued the "Notice on Adjusting and Optimizing Real Estate Transaction Policies". From September 1, 2024, when resident families (including borrowers, spouses and minor children) apply for commercial personal housing loans in Chongqing to purchase commercial housing, only the housing situation of family members in the district and county where the proposed housing is purchased will be checked. If a family member has no housing in the district and county where the proposed housing is located, it will be identified as the first housing. Residents who use their own stock of housing in Chongqing as rental housing and obtain a certificate of record of the rental contract, the rented housing at the time of purchase of housing in Chongqing may not be included in the calculation of the number of family housing units.
