U.S. stocks opened, with the Dow up 0.06%, the S & P 500 up 0.14% and the Nasdaq down 0.07%. Pinduoduo (PDD. O) opened down 21%, with Q2 revenue falling short of expectations. JD.com (JD. O) fell 5.4% and Alibaba (BABA. N) fell 4%. XPeng Motors (XPEV. N) rose 5.1% as CEO He Xiaopeng increased his stake in the company and plans to increase it further.

The Dow Jones index hit a new intraday record and is currently up 0.5%.

WTI crude jumped 3% in the day to $76.94 a barrel. Brent crude rose 2.6% to $80.27 a barrel.
