On June 24th, the Barclays research team released its quarterly report on emerging markets in Asia on June 24th. Barclays expects overall GDP growth in emerging markets in Asia to reach 5.2% in 2024, an increase of 0.4 percentage points from the 4.8% forecast in its quarterly report released in March. This also means that this year's economic growth is on par with the 5.3% level in 2023 and has not slowed down. "Given the size of China's economy, its economic growth tends to have a significant impact on overall growth across the region, so this increase is largely based on our adjustment to China's GDP growth forecast for 2024. Barclays raised China's GDP growth in 2024 to 5% from 4.4% previously, mainly supported by China's stronger-than-expected first-quarter GDP data." The Barclays research team said.
