Henry Elder, head of UTXO Management, an investor in Taproot Wizards, said in an interview that if the innovation OP_CAT advanced, it would be possible for every use case on every chain to return to Bitcoin. For example, OP_CAT could enable so-called non-ambiguous contracts, Bitcoin contracts, that penalize people who try to use the same coin twice. Or, if someone's wallet is hacked, the owner might have time to reverse the hacked transaction.
Adam Back, CEO of Blockstream, says this is a good idea because Bitcoin escrow benefits from some additional programmability, and that additional programmability allows for more layer 2 functionality. For example, these capabilities can build a better bridge with secondary blockchains, making transactions more secure and easier.

Federal Reserve Coogler: Anti-inflation process may have stalled
The Federal Reserve's Coogler said the latest data suggest progress towards its 2% inflation target may have stalled. Given the stability of economic activity and employment, there is support for holding current policy rates unchanged as long as upside risks to inflation persist. Inflation expectations are rising, and there are upside risks (to inflation) from upcoming policy changes. It is reassuring to note that the increase in long-term inflation expectations has so far been small. Given the ...
