CME Ethereum options trading volume hits new high in May

According to The Block data, the trading volume of CME Ethereum futures options reached $1.26 billion in May. This is a significant increase from the trading volume of $615.75 million in April and set a record monthly trading volume.
According to Wednesday's Wintermute Market Update, the number of unpositioned squaring Ethereum futures contracts on the CME has approached an all-time high. Wintermute analysts said the increase in unpositioned squaring contracts indicates the growing interest of institutional investors in trading Ethereum (versus Bitcoin) in anticipation of the imminent launch of an Ethereum spot ETF.
