On May 17, the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) officially announced that Heather Slavkin Corzo, the head of policy, will be leaving the agency. Corey Klemmer, who recently served as a corporate financing advisor to SEC Chairperson Gary Gensler, has been appointed head of policy.
Heather has been one of my most trusted advisers over the past three years, "Gensler said." She has provided sound advice and managed a policy agenda that has strengthened protection for the investing public and enhanced issuers' access to capital formation through a variety of achievements, from money market fund reform to shorter settlement cycles to enhanced corporate disclosure of major cyber security incidents. I wish her luck.
