Mark T. Uyeda, acting chairperson of the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), on Saturday directed the agency's staff to review several previously issued employee statements regarding the application of the law on cryptocurrency investments and digital asset securities. The directive was issued pursuant to Executive Order 14192, entitled "Promoting Prosperity Through Deregulation," and in response to a recommendation from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Uyeda said the statements will be reviewed to determine if they need to be "amended or withdrawn" to be consistent with the SEC's current priorities.
