Meta releases new artificial intelligence model series Llama 4

Meta on Saturday unveiled its best artificial intelligence model to date, Llama 4. The series features a total of four new models: Llama 4 Scout, Llama 4 Maverick, and Llama 4 Behemoth. Meta said all of the models were trained on "large amounts of unannotated text, image, and video data" to give them "broad visual understanding capabilities". The Scout and Maverick models are publicly available on the Llama.com website and at Meta's partners, while the Behemoth model is still being trained. Meta said its artificial intelligence assistant, Meta AI, has been updated to use Llama 4 models in 40 countries. At present, the multimodal feature is only available in English in the United States.
