Average Ethereum Gas Fees Drop 95% One Year After Dencun Upgrade

The average gas fee for Ethereum has dropped by 95% in the year following the Dencun upgrade. On March 13, 2024, Ethereum's Dencun upgrade was launched, which combined the Cancun upgrade for the execution layer and the Deneb upgrade for the consensus layer, and introduced nine Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs). According to YCharts, the average gas fee for Ethereum has dropped from 72 gwei in 2024 to just 2.7 gwei on March 12, 2025. (Cointelegraph)
