新加坡青年涉嫌参与美国史上最大加密货币盗窃案被捕
3月10日，据新加坡商业时报报道，年仅20岁的新加坡籍男子Malone Lam因涉嫌参与美国史上最大规模加密货币盗窃案之一而被捕。该案件涉案金额高达2.3亿美元（约合3.06亿新元），涉及4100个比特币，按当前市场价格计算价值超过4.5亿美元。
美国司法部披露，Lam与其21岁的美国同伙Jeandiel Serrano于2024年9月被捕，被控"共谋窃取并洗钱"罪名。调查显示，犯罪嫌疑人将赃款用于奢侈消费，Lam曾在夜店一晚豪掷50万美元（约66.5万新元），并在奢华派对上向模特和网红赠送价值不菲的爱马仕Birkin包。
截至去年10月，执法部门已成功追回约7000万美元赃款，并在多家加密货币交易所冻结相关账户。然而，根据法庭文件显示，"即使扣除Serrano及其同伙在豪车和珠宝上的数百万美元消费，仍有超过1亿美元赃款下落不明"。
如果罪名成立，Lam将面临最高20年监禁，以及最高25万美元罚款或诈骗获利金额两倍的处罚。本案的审判日期已定于今年10月6日。
