Meituan: Will pay social security for full-time and stable part-time riders, and actively build a harmonious labor relationship

February 19 news, Meituan official account issued a document, in order to actively build a harmonious labor relationship, Meituan according to the characteristics of the new employment form and the actual needs of new employment groups, conscientiously implement the rider's rights and interests protection, and continue to promote the rider's social security work. Since July 2022, under the guidance of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, Meituan has taken the lead in launching the new employment form of personnel occupational injury protection pilot, and has invested 1.40 billion to pay occupational injury insurance premiums for all riders in 7 pilot provinces and cities, and will further cover all riders in all provinces and cities in the future. Since last year, Meituan has conducted serious research on social security schemes such as riders' pension insurance, selected different regions and cities for in-depth research, and formed a preliminary pilot scheme under the guidance of relevant departments. Currently, it is building an information system related to riders' social security. It is expected to be implemented in the second quarter of 2025, and gradually pay social security for full-time and stable part-time riders.
