Vitalik: Fear of AGI and ASI, support building intelligent augmentation tools for humans rather than super intelligent life

On December 21st, in response to the recent AGI-related product developments in the field of OpenAI and AI, Vitalik Buterin, founder of Ethereum, wrote on the X platform, "My definition of AGI (general artificial intelligence) is: AGI is powerful enough artificial intelligence. If one day all humans suddenly disappear and the AI is uploaded to the robot body, it will be able to continue civilization independently. Obviously, this is a very difficult definition to measure, but I think this is the core of the intuitive difference between'AI we are used to 'and'AGI' in many people's minds. It marks a shift from a tool that constantly relies on human input to a self-sufficient life form. ASI (super artificial intelligence) is something else entirely - my definition is when humans stop adding value to productivity in the loop (like in board games, we've only really gotten to this point in the last decade.) Yes, ASI scares me - even AGI, as I define it, because of the obvious risk of getting out of control.
