On December 4th, local time on December 3rd, the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, after discussing the Palestinian issue, voted on a number of resolutions related to the situation in the Middle East. The UN General Assembly first passed the resolution with 157 votes in favor, 7 abstentions, and 8 votes against, reiterating its call for an immediate and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian issue and bringing stability to the Middle East. The United States, Israel, and Argentina were opposed. Subsequently, the UN General Assembly passed a resolution with 97 votes in favor, 64 abstentions, and 8 votes against, demanding that Israel immediately withdraw its armed personnel from the Syrian Golan Heights within the 1967 line and implement relevant Security Council resolutions. The United States, Britain, Israel, and Canada voted against.
