Defense Ministry Spokesperson Wu Qian Addresses a Reporter's Question on the New Round of US Arms Sales to Taiwan

The sale of arms by the United States to the Taiwan region of China seriously violates the one-China principle and the three Sino-US joint communiques, especially the provisions of the "August 17 Communiqué", seriously damages China's sovereignty and security interests, undermines the relations between the two countries and the two militaries, and endangers peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. We are strongly dissatisfied and firmly opposed to this, and lodge solemn representations with the US side.
