On November 23rd, local time on November 22nd, US President-elect Trump nominated billionaire Scott Bescent to the post of Treasury Secretary. Bescent, 62, is the founder of global macro investment firm KeySquareGroup and served as the chief investment officer of Soros Fund Management. He advised Trump on economic policy during the 2024 presidential campaign.
