On November 22nd, according to the Reuters-owned media IFR, the US Securities and Exchange Commission said on Thursday that its chairperson Gary Gensler (Gary Gensler) will resign after the Trump administration takes over on January 20. "I thank President Biden for this incredible responsibility. The SEC has fulfilled our mission and enforced the law without fear or favor," Gensler said in a statement. During his tenure, Gensler took aim at the crypto industry, suing Coinbase, Kraken, Binance and other companies, claiming that they violated regulations by failing to register with the SEC. The companies have denied the accusation and fought it in court. When it comes to cryptocurrencies, the courts have mostly supported Gensler's position, but his wide-ranging actions and intransigence have provoked strong opposition from Wall Street, congressional Republicans, and even some Democrats.
