On November 3rd, steel giant Arcelor Mittal recently filed a lawsuit with the European Unified Patent Court, accusing XPeng Motors of allegedly infringing on the legitimate rights and interests of its patent EP3290200B1. The defendants in this lawsuit also include Moll in Düsseldorf, Germany, and Hedin in Luxembourg, a total of 17 dealers. In response to the lawsuit, XPeng Motors responded today that the thermoforming materials used in the G9 products claimed by ArcelorMittal are suspected of infringing its EP3290200 patent. XPeng Motors' intellectual property team and procurement, manufacturing, and other departments have already designated suppliers or raw material suppliers to ensure that G9 products are avoided from using thermoforming materials that pose a risk of infringement in the target market before the export of G9 products. XPeng Motors is in good communication with ArcelorMittal and requires suppliers to verify the source of relevant materials and confirm that the materials provided meet the company's requirements.
