The Democratic nominee remains undecided, and the Harris nomination remains challenged

On July 22nd, before Biden announced his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race, Democrats were divided on whether to vote for a new candidate at the party convention through an open process, or directly let Vice President Harris become the candidate and let her choose a new vice president. Some, such as Representative Zoe Lofgren, have called for a new candidate to be selected through an open process rather than directly being crowned. But time is running out, and it is unclear who will challenge Harris for the nomination.
