White House says about 80,000 US troops in NATO countries

On June 8th, the White House released a briefing on its website on the 7th, saying that about 80,000 US troops are sent to or deployed in NATO countries to ensure the safety of US allies. The White House has sent this notice to the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives. The briefing also pointed out that there are about 2,300 US military personnel in Saudi Arabia, about 3,800 in Jordan, about 700 in Niger, and 75 in Lebanon. The briefing did not specify the number of US troops in Iraq and Syria, only that "a small number of US troops remain in strategically important locations in Syria."
