On May 30, according to CNBC, there was a problem with the data entry of the major U.S. market averages on Thursday, causing the calculation of the S & P 500 Index and the Dow Jones Industries Average Index to stop. CME Group also confirmed to CNBC that the calculation of the two indexes provided to its customers on Thursday was at least affected. The last calculation of the Dow Jones Index and the S & P 500 Index appears to have occurred at 10:41 a.m. ET. However, the problem with the index data entry does not necessarily affect trading. For now, the futures market for the S & P 500 and Dow Jones Index appears to be operating normally, and individual stock prices have not been affected.
