The divorce purchase restriction has been lifted, and the Beijing document stating that "no one is allowed to purchase a house in Beijing within 3 years of divorce" has been abolished

On March 27th, in order to implement the positioning of "housing for living, not for speculation" and improve the long-term mechanism for regulating the real estate market, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban Rural Development announced the abolition of a document released two years ago. The document was released in August 2021, stating that "if a couple divorces and the number of housing units owned by the original family before the divorce does not comply with the purchase restrictions on commercial housing in this city, neither party shall purchase commercial housing in this city for a period of three years from the date of divorce."
