Tesla's first energy storage super factory outside the United States has landed in Shanghai

On May 23rd, on the afternoon of May 23rd, Tesla Shanghai Energy Storage Super Factory started construction in the new area of Lingang, Shanghai. The total area of Tesla Shanghai Energy Storage Factory is about 200,000 square meters, and the factory is close to Tesla Shanghai Super Factory. This is also Tesla's first energy storage super factory project outside the United States. Tesla Senior Vice President Zhu Xiaotong revealed that Tesla Shanghai Energy Storage Super Factory is expected to be put into production in Quarter 1 in 2025. After the commissioning, the output of super large energy storage battery Megapack will reach 10,000 units, and the energy storage scale is nearly 40 gigawatt-hours (1 gigawatt-hour = 1 quadrillion watt-hours). "40 gigawatt-hours of electricity generation reaches 40 million degrees per hour, which is equivalent to the electricity consumption of 50,000 households in Shanghai for one year."
