Eclipse CEO steps down temporarily, denies sexual harassment allegations

Eclipse CEO Neel Somani announced on Thursday that he is "temporarily stepping down" from his responsibilities as an Ethereum Layer 2 solution due to sexual harassment allegations. Despite multiple allegations of sexual misconduct involving him, Somani maintained his innocence in a post. Following the decision, Somani said it was a fair treatment of the Eclipse team, investors and developer ecosystem. Eclipse also said in a post that it would share more background and details about the senior leaders in the coming days. Somani pledged to "work to clear the name and defend" himself, while stressing that this transition of power will facilitate the emergence of the truth. Somani and Eclipse have not yet responded to media requests for comment on the move.
