The value of bitcoin fell by 12% in the first quarter of 2025, marking the worst Q1 performance in the past seven years

Quarter 1 of 2025 was Bitcoin's worst quarter in seven years, with the market value shrinking by at least 12 per cent between January and March, despite massive overweight by corporate entities such as Strategy, Tether and Metaplanet.
CryptoQuant analysis believes that the market is lower or related to long-term holder selling activities and ETF outflows, the first quarter of long-term holders of BTC holdings decreased by about 178,000 BTC, offset the bullish momentum brought by the increase in corporate entities, while Bitcoin ETF in the first quarter withdrawn at least $4.80 billion of funds, BTC will end the second quarter with a positive trend remains to be seen.
