Hebei: By 2025, short-process steelmaking output will account for more than 5%, and coal consumption will decrease by about 10% compared with 2020

Jin Ten Futures, April 22, the People's Government of Hebei Province issued the "Implementation Plan for the Action Plan for Continuous Improvement of Air Quality in Hebei Province", which mentioned that it is strictly forbidden to add new steel production capacity, steadily implement the integrated layout of steel, coking and sintering, and accelerate the integration and upgrading of converters below 100 tons and blast furnaces below 1,000 cubic meters. By 2025, the output of short-process steelmaking will account for more than 5%. Coal consumption will decrease by about 10% compared with 2020. New coal projects in key areas will be converted and expanded, and coal will be replaced by equal or reduced amounts in accordance with the law. In principle, no new self-provided coal-fired units will be added. Basically phase out coal-fired boilers and tea stoves, operating stoves, agricultural product processing and other coal-fired facilities of 35 steam tons/hour and below, and phase out and shut down a total of 29 coal-fired units and installed capacity of 2.788 million kilowatts during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. New or relocated logistics parks, industrial and mining enterprises and grain storage warehouses with an annual transportation volume of more than 1.50 million tons of coal, ore, coke and other bulk goods. Strengthen atmospheric ammonia emission control in nitrogen fertilizer, soda ash and other industries.
