Sam Altman: OpenAI will suspend the release of some new versions

Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, said in a post on X that DeepSeek's R1 model is impressive, especially considering the price/performance ratio. We will obviously come up with better models, and it is really exciting to have new competitors. We will pause some new releases.
But most importantly, we are excited to continue executing on our research roadmap and believe that more computing is needed now than ever to successfully accomplish our mission. The world will need to use a lot of artificial intelligence, and the emergence of next-generation models will be amazing.
