Administration of Foreign Exchange: to maintain the basic stability of the foreign exchange market and build a complete and effective foreign exchange supervision system

On January 4th, the 2025 National Foreign Exchange Management Work Conference was held in Beijing from January 3rd to 4th. The conference deployed the key tasks of foreign exchange management in 2025, which mentioned that it is necessary to strengthen the maintenance of basic stability of the foreign exchange market. Strengthen situation monitoring and judgment, improve the monitoring and early warning system of cross-border capital flows, and strengthen the counter-cyclical adjustment and expectation management of the foreign exchange market. Build a complete and effective foreign exchange supervision system. Establish and improve the working mechanism of interim and ex post supervision, and make full use of scientific and technological means to improve the efficiency of supervision. Maintain a high-pressure crackdown on illegal activities in the foreign exchange field, and coordinate to strengthen the source management of illegal cross-border financial activities.
