On December 27, the Ministry of Public Security recently issued the newly revised "Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driving Licenses", extending the upper age limit for applying for a driver's license for large and medium-sized passenger and goods vehicles from 60 to 63 years old, and the upper age limit for large and medium-sized passenger and goods vehicles to be driven from 60 to 63 years old. The revised "Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driving Licenses" will come into effect on January 1, 2025. The amendment also clarifies that drivers of large and medium-sized vans apply for an extension of driving time. Drivers over the age of 63 who need to continue to drive large and medium-sized vans, after passing the physical examination and passing the memory, judgment, response and other ability tests, can apply to the Vehicle Management Office to extend the driving qualification period of the original approved vehicle.
