The counterfeit products season has just begun and will last about 90 days until March next year

Venture capitalist Felix Hartmann warned that the market for counterfeit products could be volatile in the short term as institutional investors increase profit-taking activity. "Once the momentum is there, we have to reduce leverage and see some big pullbacks," he explained. He noted that most counterfeit products now have funding rates "above" 100 per cent annualised and that recent moves have been driven purely by perpetual traders on the back of falling spot volumes, "and the fall will be brutal," Hartmann said.
However, not all traders agree and believe this is just the start of the counterfeit products season. MilkyBull Crypto, an anonymous cryptocurrency trader, said recently: "It seems logical that the counterfeit products season has just started this month and will last about 90 days."
Traders often cite Bitcoin market share as a key indicator of the start of the counterfeit products season. According to TradingView, at press time, Bitcoin's market share stood at 55.11%, down 7.88% in the last 30 days.
