The US special prosecutor dropped the election subversion case against Trump

On November 26th, according to CNN, US special counsel Jack Smith said Monday that he would drop the election subversion case against President-elect Trump and seek to drop the case in a court filing with the judge. Trump has said he would fire Smith once he takes office, breaking with previous practice regarding the special counsel's investigation. "The Department of Justice's position is that, as required by the Constitution, the case needs to be dropped before the defendant is sworn in," Smith wrote in a six-page filing.
